Cardiff, UK -
Keima Limited announce the release of version 2.3 of their popular product line, Overture.
Following hot-on-the-heels of 2.2 (released in June 2010), this release provides the following features and enhancements:

Profile Viewer. Point-to-point terrain profiles can be viewed directly from the map using the measurement tool (now called Line Profile). As well as terrain data, this tool also works for all numeric geo-data types via a selection box.

Improved Prediction Tuning. Automatic prediuction tuning now respects a given decimal place accuracy for input parameters. Also prediciton parameters, clutter passthrough, and clutter termination loss can be tuned individually or at the same time.

Map Markers. Point maps can now use any character from any installed font as a marker, which gives greater differentiation between multiple point data sources.

Filter Enhancements. Extended the new Filtering feature to allow filtering by site, sector, and radio parameters.

Network Element Scalability. Setting properties for multiple sites in very large projects (more than 5,000 sites) has been sped up significantly.

Network Size Scalability. Handling of very large data grids (10,000 by 10,000 bins and above) has been made much more efficient, allowing higher resolution analysis with more modest computing resources.

Founding director Dr Steve Margetts commented

The investments we have made in our product platform over the last four years are allowing us to add features in a fast and agile way.
Our vision of solutions that keep pace with the quickly evolving telecommunications market is now bearing fruit.

Keima Limited announce the release of Overture 2.0, a comprehensive planning solution for next-generation wireless networks.

          Cardiff, UK -
Keima Limited announce the release of version 2.0 of the Overture product line.
Overture 2.0 expands support for next generation technologies and introduces the productivity enhancing Data Manager module.

Keima Director Dr Rupert Rawnsley said:

The initial release of the Overture solution and its web portal
[http://OvertureOnline.com] changed the way software is sold in our sector. Overture 2.0 continues in that same spirit, and goes further than ever before in delivering on our promise of better, faster, and cheaper. This is a planning solution for the next step in wireless network deployment.

Overture 2.0 has increased capabilities for technology-specific planning problems.
For LTE it is now possible to plan site locations, physical antenna parameters (height, azimuth, mechanical tilt, antenna type), electrical tilt, channels, and cell ID’s.
WCDMA support has been extended to support multi-carrier deployment and scrambling code planning.
Overture 2.0 also supports GSM frequency hopping including mixed-mode deployments.

Keima Director Dr Stephen Margetts pointed out:

Overture 2.0 continues the trend of competitive and public pricing that has proved so popular with customers.
This industry-first has put pressure on our competitors who must explain why their pricing is so complicated and secretive.

Overture 2.0 improves parameter planning for all technologies with a flexible new layer model that can simulate hierarchical relationships
(such as segmentation in the WiMAX air interface) and complex adjacencies between parameters.
This allows for simulation of inter-parameter interference and analysis of resource reuse distances.
The result is a faster, more accurate, diagnosis of network problems and a clear route to resolving them.

Increasing network traffic is often being addressed with multi-carrier deployments and
Overture 2.0 has an enhanced network model and simulation engine to consider these scenarios in both simulation and planning.

Overture 2.0 has usability and productivity enhancements including simpler statistical modelling, an improved antenna model editor,
a streamlined prediction comparison process, a faster installation experience, and greater discoverability.

Overture’s modules have also been updated.
The new Data Manager module comes with worldwide 30m terrain data and a full set of GIS data for the US including
states, counties, MSA, ZIP, and high-resolution residential population boundaries.
Also included are commercial tower provider portfolios for rapid candidate site discovery.
The Data Manager uses a scalable cloud-based server to ensure high bandwidth and global availability.

Keima Director Dr Simon Chapman had this to say about the new Data Manager module:

This makes Overture the perfect solution for US network planning tasks such as BTOP / BIP stimulus submissions.
It has already been used for more than 100 submitted proposals and we are able to produce designs of the highest accuracy
in a fraction of the time it would take in any other planning solution.

The Site Selection and Parameter Optimization modules have been better integrated into the Overture user interface
          - optimizing a site, cluster, or a whole city is now done with a single click.
Optimization can be started and stopped easily for manual inspection and modification.
This integrated and interactive approach to RF planning means a faster and more seamless planning experience.
Overture’s “Objective” system means that the KPI’s customers care about actually drive the optimization process.
This can be critical when considering complex and sometimes contradictory design goals such as border coordination and spectrum restrictions.

Through partnership with market leading data supplier Applied Geographic Solutions,
Keima is now able to offer high-resolution US business data through their AGS Data Module.
As with Overture’s own Data Manager module,
the business data is downloaded directly through the tool itself with no need for tedious file management or complex import procedures.
One click of the mouse and the data is available for visualization and statistical analysis.

Overture 2.0 is immediately availabile from
http://OvertureOnline.com and prices start from £300 per month.

          Cardiff, UK -
Radio network planning and optimization experts announce the availability of Keima Composer v2.0, the latest release of their next generation mobile network engineering software. Keima Composer accelerates wireless network design and deployment by allowing engineers planning a new technology to cover more sources of revenue with fewer masts, while reducing the duration and cost of the planning process. Keima Composer v2.0 adds antenna configuration, frequency planning, neighbor list generation, paging group planning, network parameter assignment, data integrity validation and plan review. Keima Composer can also be supplemented by bespoke processes, custom analyses and user-defined visualisation, made available through Keima’s Overture Framework.

Existing solutions to these problems, including automatic cell planning (ACP) and radio planning tools, focus strongly upon either complicated simulation or automation of RF planning based upon extensive network measurements, attempting the difficult task of addressing many unique problems with a single solution while trying to predict the future years in advance due to development timescales. Keima’s research has shown that the real problems experienced by operators deploying a new technology relate to prompt consideration of previously unknown emergent technology behaviour, incorporation of new parameter planning, scalability and input data availability/integrity. As a result Keima’s products focus upon rapid adaptation to address new challenges, large area/network/data import analysis and automation of integrity checking, validation and review.

This disruptive approach to wireless engineering is showcased through Keima Composer’s adaptable optimization framework, allowing operators to integrate multi-parameter planning into a single tailored process. Automation can be determined by the client: from single button automation through to branched processes combining automatic planning algorithms with richly interactive validation through mapping and pivot table reporting. Automation can be configured to meet users unique needs, based upon innovations in scriptable constraint and domain definition, extensible network parameter models, hierarchical parameter planning, prioritised statistical objectives and many:many adjacency definition. Composer has been proven in the selection of tens of thousands of sites, and automated configuration planning of thousands of sites, and existing clients have realised eight figure paybacks (£,$ or €) within the first year of engagement.

Rupert Rawnsley, co-founder of Keima with responsibility for product management and business development, commented:

"Keima Composer v2.0 embodies Keima’s vision of the next generation of wireless engineering tools: accuracy through simplicity, efficiency through scalability and speed through flexibility. End-users can be guided through tailor-made expert designed processes, while the value of their experience can be amplified through intuitive visual review and powerful drill-down capabilities. Multi-thousand site networks can be rapidly and seamlessly planned over thousands of square kilometres thanks to proprietary innovations in the field of optimization algorithms and network analysis. Planning of tomorrow’s technologies today is enabled by a uniquely adaptable optimization framework, removing the need for complicated or inaccurate work-arounds in legacy technology tools".

Keima Composer v2.0 is available now for wireless network operators, infrastructure vendors, technology consultants and network engineering service providers. It can be used for applications including overlay
planning, candidate selection, network merger integration, site portfolio evaluation, initial parameter planning, late site integration, technology evaluation, network planning and infrastructure vendor evaluation. Designed to accommodate all major families of wireless technologies, including 802.xx, 3GPP, CDMA and DVB. Further releases of Keima Composer planned for 2008 will calibrate network traffic models, applying new approaches to maximising the accuracy of input data, and enhancing further the set of planning tasks addressed.

Innovation in Wireless Engineering Data Management: Keima and Eira Software Announce Collaboration.

          Cardiff, UK -
Wireless network planning and optimization experts Keima and data management experts Eira Software
have announced a collaboration that focuses on the application of next-generation embedded database
          capabilities to wireless engineering software.
Wireless engineering applications, such as Keima’s Composer, have numerous data management challenges,
          including temporal configuration management,
multi-Gigabyte input and output data, and deployment to geographically distributed multi-user collaboration environments.
Inexpert development of data management capabilities has saddled users with slow application load times,
long development timeframes, performance limitations with large data sets, and data integrity problems.
Eira’s FirexDB, an embedded database solution, simplifies and speeds up the development of data intensive software,
reduces the end-user cost of data management, and improves the performance of applications.

The first joint research-and-development programme will concentrate on the problems of configuration management
(specifically related to neighbor planning) and the storage and audit of multiple network configurations,
which evolve during network planning and deployment.
The focus of this collaboration is the reduction of end-user re-work and the cost of manual plan review and comparison,
whilst increasing the integrity of plans uploaded to the network.

Rupert Rawnsley, co-founder of Keima, describes the value of the relationship:

"Wireless engineering requires the management of massive quantities of dynamic data:
from propagation predictions and network measurements to equipment configurations and market statistics.
Legacy systems have struggled to map this naturally object-oriented data into relational database tables
and to efficiently manage the large quantities of data involved.
There is clearly a need for high-performance data management solutions that are both simple to develop,
            robust, and offer best-in-class performance.
Eira share our passion for innovation through simplicity,
and with our partnership we hope to deliver the next significant step forward for wireless engineering solutions architecture".

Ieuan Williams, founding director of Eira, added:

"When we first spoke with Keima, we discussed the problems experienced by legacy wireless engineering tools:
long development timescales, slow application start-up times, inefficiently holding large datasets in memory,
distributing multiple copies of Gigabytes of data,
and support calls created by corporate database administrators imposing unforeseen database policies.
These problems are symptomatic of attempts by non-specialists to use large and overly complex legacy relational database solutions
within what should be a shrink-wrapped product, or reliance on poor quality in-house data management solutions.
            With FirexDB we seek to use the right technology to solve the right problem;
to both reduce the overhead of data management for developers and remove the need for expensive database
            administration skills within end-user organizations.
Keima are a perfect collaboration partner,
looking beyond both hyped and legacy technologies for innovative solutions to known problems,
they are willing to enhance their capabilities through collaboration with experts in other fields".

Both companies are based in the Cardiff Business and Technology Centre enabling efficient communication and interworking.

          Cardiff, UK -
Wireless network planning and optimization experts Keima have released Composer 1.0.
Composer is a software solution for pre-build wireless network design:
it allows engineers planning a new wireless technology to cover more sources of revenue with fewer masts,
while also reducing the duration and cost of the planning process.
Composer provides a disruptive approach to pre-build network design,
equally important for both the low-cost business models of new entrants
and the cost reduction necessary for established operators deploying a new technology.

Composer 1.0 allows the user to select mast sites from existing portfolios in order to maximize revenue coverage.
Advanced geographic visualization allows the user to review and understand the implications of plans,
evaluate proposed solutions and validate input data.
Comprehensive statistical analysis and rapid site selection allows easy comparison of different rollout strategies,
          technologies, and infrastructure vendors.
Composer is designed to work in conjunction with leading propagation, planning and simulation tools.

Dr Simon Chapman, co-founder of Keima, describes the value of Composer:

"When we validated the SPICE site selection algorithm with a top twenty global operator,
we were able to show a reduction in site numbers of more than 30% compared to their existing process,
while still covering the same population.
This improved plan (which passed a manual review) represents an estimated £4 million in infrastructure capex reduction,
plus future savings in opex through reduced equipment maintenance and electricity costs.
We have also shown that the tool can significantly increase population coverage compared to existing solutions
when using the same site numbers.
Since January this year we have used Composer on fee paying projects to select more than 20,000 sites
for technologies including mobile WiMAX, proving the scalability and usability of the application".

Rupert Rawnsley, co-founder of Keima with responsibility for product management and business development, added:

"We learnt many lessons from the experiences of 2G and 3G wireless network planning:
manually intensive simulation based approaches to planning are time consuming
            and cannot be understood by non-expert end-users;
            black-box automatic optimization can be difficult to validate and integrate into a process;
overly complicated software solutions are slow to deliver and struggle to keep pace with the
            rapid development of wireless technology.
With Composer we have taken a new approach to pre-build wireless network design, drawing on these lessons.
Composer is a decision support solution that increases engineer productivity,
rather than an analysis and simulation centric tool.
Composer is a focused pre-build design solution:
the user is not paying for the unnecessary complication of integrating drive test measurements
only applicable after network build, or network statistics only applicable for mature networks.
Composer is technology neutral, allowing experts to specify design processes without the need to work
around assumptions that are technology or vendor specific, and as such invalid.
Composer is simple to use for junior engineers optimizing the plan of a town or city,
yet powerful and flexible enough to support complicated
nationwide scenario planning by technology experts evaluating rollout strategy".

Composer is available now for wireless network operators, infrastructure vendors, technology consultants
          and network engineering service providers.
It can be used for applications including overlay planning, network merger integration,
site portfolio evaluation, technology evaluation and infrastructure vendor evaluation.
While designed for the next generation of technologies including WiMAX and outdoor Wi-Fi,
Composer’s technology neutral approach means that it can also be applied to 2G and 3G technologies
          including GSM, CDMA and UMTS.
Future releases planned for 2007 will expand the range of parameters which Composer optimizes.

          Cardiff, UK -
Wireless planning and optimization experts Keima have moved to a new suite of offices in the
Cardiff Business and Technology Centre in order to provide capacity for planned growth.
Contact details are unchanged: the new office suite is at the Cardiff Business and Technology Centre,
where Keima had previously leased incubation space.
The new office unit represents a threefold increase in floor space in order to provide for
planned headcount expansion over the next 18 months.

In order to be accepted into the Cardiff Business and Technology Centre,
firms must pass a rigorous evaluation process overseen by the Centre’s board
in order to demonstrate that their business plans are viable:
the centre specializes in providing accommodation for high growth technology firms
that develop innovative technologies, often with close links to local academic research groups.
In addition to business accommodation, membership of the centre qualifies Keima for a range of
business support services from Cardiff Council and the Welsh Assembly Government, and a Business Development Credit.

Dr Rupert Rawnsley, co-founder of Keima, commented
"As with many young technology companies, Keima started as an idea discussed in coffee breaks and living rooms,
which was then realized (in its early months) on kitchen tables, in university rooms and at client premises,
before strong foundations were built in a cramped cubicle in an incubation unit.
Moving to our new suite of offices gives us the sound footing required to grow with our expanding client base,
and is funded by the revenue generated from our successes over the first 9 months of operation.
Furthermore, the critical evaluation and acceptance of Keima’s business plans by the centre provides
an important validation of our proposed business strategy".

Cardiff, UK / Amsterdam, NL -
Wireless planning and optimization experts Keima and Wavecall have formed a partnership to deliver next generation
wireless optimization services and software solutions. Keima will implement the industry leading
WaveSight propagation model within their planned Overture network optimization platform, and both organizations
have agreed to provide joint solutions to network operators and infrastructure vendors on a global basis.
Solutions will include software products such as the WaveSight propagation model and Keima planning and
optimization solutions, as well as consultancy services and training. The partnership will enable Wavecall
and Keima to jointly undertake larger projects and develop their applications more rapidly to address
emerging market needs, while maintaining their existing strengths of focus and agility.

Simon Chapman, co-founder of Keima, commented, "It is important that the mobile sector learns the lessons of
the recent European UMTS rollout when addressing the challenges of tomorrow's technologies such as WiMAX.
Optimization of the radio access network during initial planning is both the cheapest and most effective option:
a quick and dirty implementation can lead to an unsatisfactory customer experience delaying mass-market uptake
and return on investment. Accurate modelling is essential to this process, and Wavecall’s propagation model is proven
to be the best practice for urban planning. We are excited by the prospect of closer collaboration with Wavecall,
and developing innovative joint solutions for the sector”. Karim Rizk, CEO and Founder of Wavecall noted, "Wavecall
is delighted to work with Keima. Keima’s team is very talented and forward-looking. It has accumulated experience from
the GSM/UMTS era and the transition between the two, combined with an in-depth knowledge of 802.16 standards and
mesh networks. Keima is therefore a natural partner to extend Wavecall’s offerings for next generation wireless
networks such as WiMAX. The optimization solutions from Keima will be tightly linked to WaveSight and both tools will
form a cutting edge solution combining the benefits of the optimization and prediction worlds in a unique manner".

We are pleased to announce that Dr Kathryn Jones has joined Keima.

Kathryn has a background in developing wireless optimization technologies,
previously having worked on automatic cell planning solutions in both academia and industry.
Since 2004 Kathryn worked as a core technologist within the development team for the leading
automatic cell planning tool in the North American market. Her academic research in automatic
cell planning at Cardiff University focused on the problem of dimensioning complex
multi-service data networks. Kathryn will initially be applying this expertise to the
next generation of wireless technologies, including Mobile WiMAX and Municipal Wi-Fi.

Keima director Rupert Rawnsley commented "Kathryn's research and development background
further strengthens the team at Keima. With her proven experience of solution development
with multi-service technologies, Kathryn will be an important part of our drive to develop
industry leading approaches to the problem of WiMAX optimization".

Keima Ltd is pleased to announce its

Keima Ltd ("KeimaTM", pronounced "\kA-ma\") is pleased to announce its
incorporation as a limited company based in Cardiff, Wales, effective
from 12th January 2006. Keima’s four co-founders, Dr Simon Chapman,
Dr Rupert Rawnsley, Dr Steve Margetts and Rupert Rawnsley, have more
than 35 years experience in the wireless communications industry,
working with global industry leaders in the provision of engineering
software solutions and services such as Actix, Agilent, Aircom
International and ComOpt. Engineering solutions developed by
Keima’s co-founders are in use by top-tier operators and engineering
service providers worldwide. Keima intends to develop engineering
software solutions to serve the needs of users of future wireless
technologies. Keima’s business model is to fund research and
development through services work, with an order book sufficient to
fund the first year of operations already developed within the first two
          months of incorporation.

Describing the foundation of Keima, Simon Chapman explained:

"Rupert, Steve and I have worked together as a close-knit and
effective team at Cardiff University, ComOpt, Agilent and Actix for the
past 8 years. It became clear that there were opportunities in emerging
markets that an established company would have difficulty exploiting,
due to market size and risk. Richard joins us after a year’s sabbatical
from industry at the Judge Business School in Cambridge,
complementing the team with a strong background in new
technology consultancy, strategy and product management. Richard
previously worked with the team at Actix, and with prior experience in
operational and strategic environments at Aircom International and TMobile."

          Keima’s Ongoing Strategy:
Rupert Rawnsley commented upon the choice of Keima as a
          corporate identity:

"Keima is a figure in the ancient Chinese game of
Go regarded as strong, efficient and agile, although also inviting a
degree of risk. This perfectly represents the key strengths of Keima,
building upon our experience of traditional wireless communications to
develop solutions for the disruptive wireless technologies of today and
tomorrow, where only a small and dynamic organization can embrace
          the risk of developing solutions."

          Further Steve Margetts underlined the
choice of Cardiff as a centre of operations:

          "Cardiff provides a natural
base for Keima to exploit our close relationships with the university,
where much of our ground-breaking work on automatic network
planning and optimization took place in the late 1990’s."

The strategic intent of Keima is to develop engineering solutions for next
generation of wireless technologies, such as WiMAX, and addressing
          deployments within license-exempt/unlicensed spectrum. Richard
          Edge clarified:

"Over the next five years we will see a period of rapid
change in both wireless technology and the business models of
operators, equipment vendors and engineering service providers,
surpassing even the speed of change since the early 1990’s. This is an
ideal opportunity for a start-up such as Keima to embark upon a blue
ocean strategy, developing new value propositions for markets which
previously had no need to intelligently optimize wireless technologies."
